I'm getting worried about the upcoming SCVYP performances, as the last rehearsal wasn't where it should be. Yes, Copland isn't easy, but we've had the music since February, and people should be practicing. The entire program is A LOT of music, which should drive the point home even more. Since we're playing in a pit for dancers, I would think it would have to be the same level as a regular performance, if not more, since people are using us as cues.
Here @ school, I'm also playing quite a bit. Mostly, I'm worried about the upcoming chamber music concert this coming Monday night...I really don't think Beethoven will be ready, even though we're rehearsing tonight and Friday. But still, that's less than 10 rehearsals, period. Granted, we didn't get the music until a few weeks ago, but still. Bwah!! Confusion reigns! I'm also playing for a singer's recital, playing a oboe/violin I in Handel thing, along with my other Baroque music.
Must run, I promise another entry tonight.
